Travel Diaries - Melbourne: Day 05

Nooooo! I can't believe that I only have two and a half days left in Melbourne :-(

Jason screwed up his sleeping cycle so we didn't get out of the apartment until about 2pm this afternoon. We headed to DFO South Wharf and did some of the most efficient shopping I've ever done in my life. Shopping with a guy is so much easier because they don't feel the need to linger around in stores for no reason. Not to mention that they hold all of your stuff :P We did two laps of the place in less than an hour and a half!

Crazy gigantic macarons from Cafe Piccolo - 4 for $10.00

Chocolate, vanilla and bubblegum - such a shame they tasted no where as good as they looked

I've been after some contrast panel jeans for so long! $10 each from Cotton On

$10 combat boots from Dotti - matchy matchy with Alice!

$30 Stussy wolf knit from Front House

After DFO we took a quick break before heading to TGI Friday's. I absolutely loved everything about the restaurant!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service went above and beyond like you wouldn't believe.

Passed this place on the way and took a photo for Adrii

Gigantic bar in the middle of the restaurant

Lights of Havana and chocolate fudge thickshake

Friday's three for all and chicken fingers with cheddar cheese mash

D E L I C I O U S

Grabbed some Pappa Roti bread on the way home and fell in love

Hope all of you enjoyed your weekend and have a fantastic week! xo, s.

Travel Diaries - Melbourne: Day 04

Hi lovelies! Today's post is going to be a short one because we spent a majority of the day at Chapel Street Precinct. All of the brunch places near our apartment were closed so we ended up eating at Grill'd. Jason ordered a simply grill'd and I ordered a small sized chips which ended up being stacked so high it felt like a large serving.

By the way, what's with all of the nice cars around Chapel Street!?!? Jason thinks we saw at least a million dollars worth of super cars today oh my goshhhh.

Seriously wish rabbits were legal in Queensland

Woohoo!

Dessert at San Churro

Churros for two with milk dip and half and half sugar. The churros are so much skinnier here!

Strawberry milkshake

Accidentally turned my eyebrow into a caterpillar today.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend so far! xo, s.

Travel Diaries - Melbourne: Day 03

Hi lovelies! We started this morning with brunch at Silo by Joost. Originally we wanted to eat right across the street at Hardware Societe but there was a waiting period of half an hour so..... yeah.

Skinny mocha and cappuccino

Coddled egg on toast

After brunch we made another stop at Giraffe Cafe again so that Aileen could see what it was like. I tried one of their dessert this time and the serving of creme brulee is huge compared to the one you get at Freestyle! A bit of a shame that the bottom was just like custard though.

By Aileen the future professional couple photographer

We eventually made our way to the Queen Victoria markets and I was so angry omfg. If you've noticed the massive black fluff I've been wearing in the majority of my latest posts, I bought it for $70 from Dissh after debating whether to get it or not for almost half a year. I finally bought it just a week before I left for Melbourne and then today one of the stalls had the EXACT SAME THING for literally half the price. I made myself feel better and ended up buying a grey and black version :'(

SO CAYOOTE

Aileen had to leave after the markets to meet with some friends so Jason and I made our way to Melbourne Aquarium! It was kind of disappointing because the admission fare was almost $30 and it was quite small but the fish were actually really unique. There was this one fish that was longer than Jason's height but I didn't take a photo because it didn't justify how big it looked in real life ;_;

And that was pretty much the end of our day! We tried to go out and eat dinner but once again, the restaurant we wanted to eat at closed earlier than we expected it to. I'll leave you guys here and hope you all have a great weekend! xo, s.

Travel Diaries - Melbourne: Day 02

I walked around so much today I swear my legs could drop off at any moment. Luckily for you guys this means that I have a lot of stuff to show you. We jumped around from place to place quite quickly so excuse me for the lack of organisation in this post. Also, I'd like to thank all of you lovely people that sent me suggestions of places to go in the CBD after my last post. We headed in the general direction of the majority of your suggestions and ended up having a really enjoyable day :')

We started off the day by heading off to Giraffe Cafe and I absolutely loved everything about it!! It was the best possible start to our day after yesterday's disaster. The interior reminded me of all the adorable cafes I visited in Korea - so cosy and charming. We were greeted by a kind korean lady before ordering the mushroom soup with bread and a cheesecake blend drink.

I have the worst memory of what we did after but we either went to Melbourne Central, Bourke Street Mall or Southbank. Either way I'll give you guys photos of all three right now because there is no chance that I'll be able to remember at this time haha!

Melbourne Central

Pancake Parlour

Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

Belgium waffles with ice cream and adorable little macarons

Milk chocolate frappe

Jason and I walked past the window and got really confused before we remembered that rabbits were actually legal outside of QLD

Phoenix rising bath boom from Lush

Bought Nina a present so she can stop drinking her milk tea out of a water bottle

Southbank / Southgate (not really sure of the difference or which is right)

We were actually on our way to the Eureka Skydeck but then Jason made me realise that I've been to buildings just as tall in Seoul so we turned around and walked back along the riverside instead.

Flinders Street Station

Street performer in Bourke Street Mall who just stayed in this position. I imagine that they'd have the best quads.

After all of the walking around we took a quick break back at the apartment before going out again to meet Aileen near Port Melbourne so her mum could drive us up to Chadstone. I was originally looking forward to spending a heap of money on new clothes but then ended up with only a stack of chocolates from Happy Lab :'(

At this point our legs were already so tired but being the ferociously hungry people we are, we insisted on going back to the city to eat dinner and dessert. And so, we finished our exhausting day with Burger Urge and Harajuku Crepes.

Sorry to rush through everything so quickly but I just wanted to get this up before going to bed! I hope all of you are well and enjoying your week so far. xo, s.
